One of the most successful Tiger relocation stories. All tigers of this beautiful forest were wiped out in the year 2004 , Tigers were relocated here from Ranthambhore and today stands at a relatively healthy number of roughly 30 Tigers.

Sariska National Park is located in the Alwar district, Rajasthan, India. It stretches over an area of 881 km2 comprising scrub-thorn arid forests, dry deciduous forests, grasslands, and rocky hills. This area was a hunting preserve of the Alwar state and was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1958. It was given the status of a tiger reserve making it a part of India's Project Tiger in 1978. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a national park in 1982. It is the first reserve in the world with successfully relocated tigers. It is an important biodiversity area in the Northern Aravalli leopard and wildlife corridor.

How to reach Sariska National Park

Jaipur Airport is the closest airport. It connects the city to all the major parts of India as well as some of the major overseas countries. It has the facility of daily domestic flights to Delhi, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Indore and Pune.


By Train - By Train , Alwar is the nearest railway station to Sariska, around 40 km away. It is well-connected to all cities in India by trains. Tourist taxis are available from railway station to Sariska.
